Duck, duck.. goose, goose.. and a pigeon or two

I picked up PAWS and Little PAWS today for some shopping fun. Afterwhich we stopped at a park to show Little PAWS the ducks. Which turned out to be a lot of geese and about a zillion pigeons. They must procreate a lot, right? All you have to do is get out of the car and these guys start running for you. They certainly are not hungry by any means as everybody and their uncle arrives there with a loaf of bread. And we did too.

These geese would get right in your lap for the food.

And even pose for the camera.

And then.....the pigeons appeared. They are no dummies either. People = Food!

The geese fought the pigeons for the food and the ducks just waited their turn in the lake. And then battled each other for a morsel.

That cute little boy was with his grandfather and PAWS gave him some bread to join in the food festivities.

This one picked up the bread off on my knee. And that's not the only thing he did to that pair of Levi's. Fortunately there were baby wipes handy.

The ducks tried to stay out of the gangs and kept the lake to themselves.

Do you ever get the feeling someone is staring at you?

It's mine. It's mine. Get out. It's not yours. I saw that first. Go find your own food.

Little PAWS wasn't too impressed with it all. She had Cheerios to eat.

What is there about baby feet? Couldn't you just eat that up? They are so dang cute and then they grow up to be ........well...FEET. Yuk.

I'm telling you......he posed for the camera. When I clicked he turned and left.

And back to the kid with the Cheerios. Maybe she'll get more excited next time. BTW...I don't recommend this park. We found it very ...uh..uh...dirty. City fathers? You need to keep your city parks cleaner.

Little paws is cute and the geese look smart with their necklaces. Great shots of the birds especially the posing goose.

Little paws is a doll! What great shots of the birds! I try to shoot the geese when they land next to the house, but they are camera shy.

That was a lot of pigeons! I love the photo where they are all lined up on top of the cracker. The bands on the ducks necks look painful. I wonder why they have those IDs?

The baby was so cute! They find everyhting fun!

@Pat: I don't know why they have the bands. Maybe if they get out into the neighborhoods or something. The bands were very loose. I checked them out.

Lots of fun! Cute photos. I can almost hear all the noise the birds make.

Oh you are so right - baby feet are irresistible!! You just want to smootch 'em. Hubby and I used to feed the geese before we were married. Sometimes they get so pushy it's a little bit scary - but they are so comical to watch. Great pictures!!

What an adorable post Lucy! I love it. Your photography is wonderful, and Little Paws is adorable. How sweet of PAWS to share with the little boy.

Phil and I used to go to Audubon Park here in Memphis and do this very thing when we were married. This was our entertainment. Buy a few loaves of day-old bread, and go to the park and feed the ducks, geese, etc. This brought back such wonderful memories. Thank you.
